This study aims to examine the narrative code in the short story “Persimpangan” by Raditya Dika, using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which involves examining the text of the story. The data used in this study are words and phrases found in the story, which was published on medium.com on March 22, 2023. The study found that only four Roland Barthes semiotic narrative codes, along with some intrinsic elements, were used in the story. These codes include; 1. The hermeneutic code, which is expressed through questions and answers that create puzzles for the reader, 2. The semic code, which uses metaphors and connotations to describe the characters and settings in the story, 3. The symbolic code, which represents the theme of the story and uses symbolism to convey meaning, 4. The probiotic code, which includes the sequence of events in the story and the consequences of the characters' actions. This study concludes that the short story “Persimpangan” by Raditya Dika uses Roland Barthes' semiotic codes to create meaning in the story.
